The Person
The Craftsperson Gardener (equivalent to a Skilled or Senior Gardener / Horticulturalist) is a highly skilled, professional Horticulturalist. Responsible for supporting the day-to-day gardening tasks for the Barbican Conservatory as well as wider Barbican Centre.
The Craftsperson Gardener will work closely with the Gardening Team Leader, and the successful candidate should have at least 2 years proven experience in a similar horticultural role or/ and RHS level 2 Certificate in Practical Horticulture (or equivalent).
As we enter our ambitious Renewal Project, this role will act as a key support for the Horticulture team during the process, as well as maintaining seamless delivery of day to day tasks.
A sound knowledge of plants as well as good gardening practice is essential. You will be a team player with a positive attitude. Experience in providing gardening services in a customer-facing environment (e.g., public open spaces, conservatories or botanical gardens) would be desirable.
Working pattern Monday- Friday including Bank Holidays.
Please note that the position is subject to an early start of 6:30 am.
