About us
Tower Bridge is part of City Bridge Foundation, a 900-year-old historic charity of which the City of London Corporation is Trustee. City Bridge Foundation has remained vital to London over the years and today its primary purpose is to maintain and support five of London’s most iconic Thames bridges.
Over the past 30 years, the charity's vision has expanded to tackle social and economic divides across the capital. Today we still maintain our bridges, and since 1995 we have awarded over £840 million to charitable organisations working to tackle inequality and injustice across London.
Tower Bridge
Here at Tower Bridge, our aim is to offer a unique and memorable experience to each and every visitor. We are values based and looking for individuals from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about delivering outstanding customer service, who are strong team players and who enjoy engaging with people from all over the world.
You will be working in a variety of environments through Tower Bridge, our Welcome Hosts cover all roles through the visitor attraction. You will be motivated by providing exceptional customer service whether working inside the attraction in our fast-paced Ticket Office and Gift Shop, or in the Towers and Walkways, inside our passenger lifts, or on our famous glass floors. You will also work outside managing queues and engaging with members of the public in all weather conditions.
Our Welcome Hosts are responsible for ensuring the safe evacuation and security lockdown of themselves, colleagues and members of the public in event of emergencies including security incidents and fire alerts. Evacuation and lockdown can require the descent, or ascent of up to 206 steps due to the emergency routes. Welcoming up to a million visitors a year into a grade one listed Victorian Bridge can create varied challenges. Candidates need to be adaptable, responsive, and work effectively with colleagues to ensure every visitor gets the best possible experience.
The ideal candidate will thrive from being in a customer facing role, enjoy delivering speeches and guided tours to large groups and bring a positive outlook whilst contributing to the success of the wider team. If you enjoy meeting new people, you are informative, engaging, enthusiastic and consistent - come and join us at London’s Defining Landmark.
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion is as important in our staff and governance as it is in our charitable activities. The City Corporation is a Disability Confident employer and we positively welcome applications from disabled people.
Please note we can consider applications for both full time (five days, 40 hours, per week) and part time (four days, 32 hours, per week), with options to be discussed at interview. All posts require contracted working days every weekend.
Available Shift Patterns:
- Available shift patterns for 5-day working are Thursday to Monday or Wednesday to Sunday.
- Available shift patterns for 4-day working are Thursday to Sunday or Friday to Monday.
The City of London Corporation is currently undergoing a programme to ensure that our pay and reward practices are competitive and equitable across the whole organisation, to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to thrive in the work that we do.
Closing date: 23:59pm on 10 September 2026

Because our roles are so varied, we don’t have a ‘one size fits all’ policy for workplace attendance. How many days a week you’ll be required to attend your workplace will depend on the requirements of your role. It’s important that you understand the requirements before applying to ensure you are able to meet them. We are committed to considering requests to work flexibly and job share. Requests will be considered by the recruiting manager in line with our policies and business needs.
For more information on our categories for workplace attendance, please view our guide here.
We will be reviewing this policy and approach at regular intervals to ensure we’re meeting our attendance needs.
