This position is for an apprenticeship in the District Surveyor’s Office of the Environment Department at the City of London.

 

The City of London, District Surveyors Building Control team, is a centre of excellence in tall, complex, multi-tenanted buildings, but deals with an interesting mix of heritage and cultural projects. The Engineering team manage the Corporations engineering assets including reservoirs, tunnels and road bridges.

 

You will be working in a team providing administration support to the District Surveyor’s teams and you will be a key member of the team, being in most cases the first point of contact for members of the public in dealing with telephone, email and reception enquiries.

 

This apprenticeship opportunity would suit someone who has an interest in pursuing a career in administration as the office deals with large and complex electronic data. You will have a good eye for details and be fully competent in MS Word and Excel. The position also includes processing building control applications, dealing with incoming emails and customer enquiries and supporting other Officers. 

 

Full support will be provided to ensure completion of the apprenticeship.

 

This apprenticeship role is based at Guildhall and will last for 18 months (including time to complete your End Point Assessment).

To qualify for this apprenticeship, you will need to be:

 

•             16 or over by the end of the summer holidays

•             Living in England

•             Not in full-time education at the time of applying

            

If you are a non-UK citizen – you need to have permission from the UK government to live in the UK (not for educational purposes) and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least the previous three years before the start of the apprenticeship.

 

Selected apprenticeships require evidence of English and Maths GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent.
