About us
City Bridge Foundation is a 900-year-old charity that owns and maintains five of London’s Thames bridges, including Tower Bridge. Since 1995, we have awarded over £840 million to charitable organisations working to tackle inequality and injustice across London. We bridge London, we connect communities.
The role
We are recruiting a Programme and Partnerships Manager to join our Funding Team, with a focus on Racial Justice. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver our new funding policy, Standing with Londoners, and to contribute to meaningful change across London’s civil society.
This maternity cover post will play a key role in supporting the development and launch of our Racial Justice funding programme. You will contribute to programme development and delivery, applying City Bridge Foundation’s values, theory of change, inclusive design principles and engagement with funded organisations and sector stakeholders. The post holder will also manage a portfolio of grants, ensuring high levels of service and support and applying inclusive grant-making practices. You’ll work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to monitor sector developments, and champion equity and justice in all aspects of your work.
There will also be an opportunity to contribute to work across the wider Programme and Partnerships Team, exploring opportunities for crossover and collaboration on access to justice, economic justice, and climate and environmental justice.
About you
This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of social justice issues, excellent relationship management skills, and experience in funding or a related field such as social welfare advice. We welcome and value lived, learned, and professional experience that brings insight into the experiences of marginalised communities—this understanding is central to shaping equitable and impactful funding practice.
In terms of experience, you’ll have an excellent knowledge of the voluntary sector, experience in assessing, managing, monitoring and evaluating grants. You should also have experience working collaboratively in small teams, along with data input and data management within Customer Relationship Management databases. You should have a good understanding of charity accounting, and grant portfolio management; and a strong commitment to open and trusting grant making.
You’ll also have sound written, verbal communication skills, excellent IT literacy and strong interpersonal skills. An effective analytical problem-solver, you’ll be able to manage competing deadlines without losing the quality of your work.
We are a values-based and welcomes applications from all sectors and communities. Equity, diversity and inclusion is as important in our staff and governance as it is in our work. We support flexible working and job-shares; and are open to requests for flexible and/or part time working. We are a Disability Confident employer and positively welcome applications from disabled people.
Closing date: 12 noon on Monday 24th November 2025
