Volunteer & Early Careers Co-ordinator

The City of London Corporation is seeking a Volunteer & Early Careers Co-ordinator to join our People & HR team. This exciting and varied role is ideal for someone organised, proactive, and people-focused, with a passion for volunteerism and developing early career pathways.
About the Role
As a key member of the Learning & Organisational Development (L&OD) team, you’ll play a central role in managing and growing our volunteer programmes and early talent pipelines across the organisation. You’ll provide advice on policies and processes, coordinate events and initiatives, and help ensure our services are effective, inclusive, and future-focused.
You’ll work closely with the Volunteer Manager and Early Careers Manager, acting as a key point of contact for enquiries, engaging with external partners, and supporting everything from internships to apprenticeship development days.
Key Responsibilities

Be the first point of contact for all volunteer and early careers queries.

Coordinate and support events, such as career fairs, volunteer appreciation events, and development workshops.

Maintain accurate records and reports using the SAP system.

Build strong relationships with schools, universities, and community groups.

Contribute to ongoing improvements in our systems and services.

Promote volunteering and early career opportunities internally and externally.

Ensure compliance with relevant policies and legal requirements.

Collaborate with colleagues across departments to align efforts with organisational goals.
About You
We’re looking for someone with:

Experience in HR, education, non-profits, or a related field (1–3 years).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in group settings.
-
A proactive, detail-oriented, and problem-solving mindset.

Experience using Microsoft Office and ideally SAP.
-
A genuine passion for career development and community engagement.
GCSEs (or equivalent) are required, and any relevant experience in volunteer coordination or early career development will be highly valued.
