The City of London’s Housing Service manages 12 estates, totalling 5500 homes. Three of these estates are in the Square Mile (including the iconic Barbican Estate) and a further 9 estates are in neighbouring London boroughs.
Our tenants and leaseholders are at the heart of everything we do, supporting us as we strive to effectively manage, maintain, and improve the property that is their home.
The Major Works Team (HRA) is primarily responsible for the delivery of an ambitious capital programme of planned maintenance refurbishment to the Corporation’s social housing stock over the next 10 years. The Golden Lane Estate forms a significant part of this future programme, with major works including window refurbishment, roof replacement, fire safety works, electrical upgrades and communal decorations. The estate will also be subject to a rolling resident decant programme, which will require both tact and resilience in equal measure.
We are looking for a self-motivated and driven Project Manager, with an eye for detail and a real desire to achieve and deliver in challenging circumstances.
The successful candidate will have experience of project and contract management, together with sound construction knowledge and ideally an understanding of working client-side. You will also have strong communication skills and experience in dealing with a range of customers and stakeholders.
Aside from your strong professional skills, being customer focused and having the right attitude, drive and enthusiasm are also key ingredients for this role.
For further information or an informal chat about the role, please contact Greg Wade, Email: gregory.wade@cityoflondon.gov.uk

In addition to a competitive salary and membership of the excellent Local Government Pension Scheme, you can look forward to an all-round package of life-improving benefits and offers – from interest-free season ticket and bicycle loans to discounts on health and wellbeing, arts and culture.
Closing date: 12 noon on 8 December 2025.
Interviews are likely to be week commencing 12 January 2026.
