About the Role
Are you passionate about connecting communities with heritage and the natural environment? The City of London Corporation is seeking enthusiastic and creative Heritage Officers to help deliver engaging and educational heritage projects across our outstanding green spaces and historic sites.
In this varied and rewarding role, you will support the design and implementation of heritage activities, exhibitions, learning programmes, and public events. Your work will bring to life the rich cultural and environmental history of iconic locations such as Hampstead Heath, Epping Forest, and Keats House.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and delivery of inclusive heritage experiences, educational resources, and interpretation materials
- Engage with schools, communities, and partner organisations to co-create learning opportunities
- Promote and care for the historic and cultural assets within the Natural Environment Division
- Coordinate project logistics, communications, and data reporting to ensure effective programme delivery
- Support volunteers and external providers to ensure safe and accessible heritage activities
- Help deliver develop new heritage initiatives and associated funding application (Grade C responsibilities)
About You
You will have relevant experience or qualifications in areas such as heritage, education, history, museum studies, archaeology, or environmental conservation. Additionally, you will bring:
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- An enthusiasm for engaging diverse audiences with history and the environment
- The ability to deliver and evaluate high-quality learning programmes
- Confidence working both independently and collaboratively
- Experience supporting or supervising volunteers or external facilitators
At Grade C, applicants will also need to demonstrate experience leading heritage projects, applying for funding, and building new partnerships.
