About City Surveyor’s:

The City Surveyor’s Department is responsible for the management of the Corporation’s property investment portfolio, corporate real estate, property/construction projects and the operational management of both portfolios.  

The role:

You will mainly be using AutoCAD to create floor plans and location plans for leases, highway disposals and airspace negotiations, and to calculate areas of encroachment/oversail of external development schemes on City assets.

You will also prepare AutoCAD drawings to support refurbishments and space planning layouts, assisting with small-scale measured surveys when required.

In addition, you will help to maintain, update, and report on the City’s property data, using the City’s Property Management System, MRI Horizon.

About you:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Level 3 qualification e.g. A-Levels, BTEC diploma, apprenticeship, or sufficient relevant work experience.
  • AutoCAD training certification, or demonstrable evidence of AutoCAD knowledge and technical drawing skills.
  • Experience in producing CAD drawings and working collaboratively as part of a CAD team within a professional discipline e.g. architecture, engineering, asset management, surveying.
  • Ability to use Ordnance Survey data and spatially position drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good organisational and time management skills to support team objectives and deadlines.
  • Experience using Property management software to maintain property records and report on lease and tenancy data would be advantageous, although training will be provided.
  • Knowledge of MRI Horizon, Adobe Acrobat and ArcMap would be beneficial.
