We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to play a critical role in delivering our Reward Transformation Programme, part of our wider Ambition 25 initiative. This is a high-profile, complex programme designed to modernise and align our Total Reward offering, in collaboration with leading external consultants.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to major transformation across one of the UK’s most unique and historic institutions, supporting the delivery of modern, effective, and people-centred HR services.
About the Role
Reporting to the Programme Director, and working closely with senior officers across HR, Finance, Procurement, and our external consultants, you’ll:

Manage key workstreams and projects within the Reward Transformation Programme

Maintain programme plans, risk registers, and dependencies across multiple interrelated projects

Prepare and deliver high-quality programme documentation, dashboards, reports, and presentations

Monitor budgets, forecasts, and procurement processes, ensuring compliance with financial regulations
-
Support governance and committee reporting, with clear analysis of risk, progress, and impact
-
Facilitate regular programme meetings and ensure timely delivery of actions

Champion consistent programme management approaches and drive process improvements across the portfolio
About You
We’re looking for a confident and capable project management professional who can operate at pace within a complex, politically aware organisation.
You will bring:

Strong experience in programme/project management within large or complex organisations
-
Demonstrated use of tools and methodologies such as PRINCE2, Agile, or MSP
-
Excellent documentation and reporting skills – including risk registers, dashboards, and business cases
-
Experience with budget monitoring and procurement processes
-
High level of proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, SharePoint, Visio, and Power BI
-
The ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines
Experience of working in or with local government, the public sector, or within HR transformation programmes will be highly beneficial.
