Programmes and Partnership Manager (Propel) x1

About us

City Bridge Foundation is a 900-year-old charity that owns and maintains five of London’s Thames bridges, including Tower Bridge. Since 1995, we have awarded over £840 million to charitable organisations working to tackle inequality and injustice across London. We bridge London, we connect communities.

The role

City Bridge Foundation is seeking an experienced and collaborative Programme and Partnerships Manager to join our Funding Team, with a primary focus on the Propel programme. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a bold, long-term funding initiative designed to support systems change across London’s civil society.

Over ten years (2022–2032), Propel will provide flexibility and capacity to organisations led by and for communities experiencing structural inequality, enabling them to lead collaborative efforts to tackle some of London’s biggest challenges. Propel is delivered in partnership with Collaboration Circle, and this role will work closely with their team, equity partners and other funders to support relational grant management and shared learning.

You will manage a portfolio of Propel grants, working in partnership with Collaboration Circle to assess Long Term Grants applications, offering non-financial support to funded organisations, and contribute to learning and development across the Propel programme. The role will involve deep engagement with organisations leading systems change work, many of which are led by and for the communities they serve.

During this 24-month role, there will also be opportunities to contribute to work across City Bridge Foundation’s Programme and Partnerships Team, sharing learning from Propel to inform CBF’s funding programmes and practice across our justice areas of Access to Justice, Climate and Environmental Justice, Racial Justice and Economic Justice. In addition to your primary focus on Propel, you will also be assigned a secondary justice area, contributing to grant assessment, management, and learning within CBF’s wider funding portfolio.

About you

This role is ideal for someone with experience in funding or civil society, a strong understanding of systems change and equity, and a commitment to relational and collaborative ways of working. We welcome and value lived, learned, and professional experience that brings insight into the experiences of marginalised communities—this understanding is central to shaping equitable and impactful funding practice.

In terms of experience, you’ll have an excellent knowledge of the voluntary sector, experience in assessing, managing, monitoring and evaluating grants. You should also have experience working collaboratively in small teams, along with data input and data management within Customer Relationship Management databases. You should have a good understanding of charity accounting, and grant portfolio management; and a strong commitment to open and trusting grant making.

You’ll also have sound written, verbal communication skills, excellent IT literacy and strong interpersonal skills. An effective analytical problem-solver, you’ll be able to manage competing deadlines without losing the quality of your work.

We are a values-based and welcomes applications from all sectors and communities. Equity, diversity and inclusion is as important in our staff and governance as it is in our work.   We support flexible working and job-shares; and are open to requests for part time working (4 days per week). We are a Disability Confident employer and positively welcome applications from disabled people.  We are a Disability Confident employer and positively welcome applications from disabled people.

Programmes and Partnership Manager x 2 (Access to Justice)

About us

Since 1995, we have awarded over £840 million to charitable organisations working to tackle inequality and injustice across London. We bridge London, we connect communities.

The role

We are recruiting two Programme and Partnerships Managers to join our Funding Team, with a focus on Access to Justice. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver our new funding policy, Standing with Londoners, and to contribute to meaningful change across London’s civil society.

This 12-month post will play a key role in supporting the launch of the first of our new programmes, Access to Justice, with a focus on social welfare advice and social change. You’ll be able to hit the ground running, to conduct assessments for the first round of the programme, manage a portfolio of grants, provide high-quality support to funded organisations, and identify opportunities for learning, partnership, and impact. You’ll work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to monitor sector developments, and champion equity and justice in all aspects of your work.

There will also be an opportunity to contribute to work across the wider Programme and Partnerships Team, applying learning from the launch of this first programme to the development of future programmes. This includes scope for crossover and collaboration on racial justice, economic justice, and climate and environmental justice.
