Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy building relationships, and want to play a key role in the City of London’s international engagement? We’re looking for two Programme Support Officers to join our growing Trade & Investment team. One will focus on strategic projects and events, and the other on our annual international visits and delegations portfolio.
Together, these roles will work closely together to help deliver the City’s international strategy, support high-profile programmes, and strengthen relationships with priority markets.
Depending on your focus area, you will:
- Support the planning and delivery of strategic market engagement projects.
- Take ownership of project workstreams, track deliverables and metrics, and monitor budgets.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure objectives are met and outputs have real impact.
- Work on events, and wider engagement activities.
- Coordinate high-profile international visits for the Lord Mayor and Policy Chairman, ensuring the delivery of market-based plans in collaboration with the team’s specialist Market Advisers.
- Lead on the planning and delivery of inward and outward delegations, including as part of visit planning for the Lord Mayor and Policy Chairman.
- Deputise for the Programme Manager or Operations Manager as required.
We’re looking for candidates who are:
- Highly organised, proactive, and able to juggle multiple priorities.
- Strong communicators with excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Detail-oriented with experience in either project coordination or event/visit delivery (or both!).
- Genuine team players who enjoy collaboration and working across multiple workstreams.
- Experienced managing budgets and tracking expenses.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the City of London’s global engagement. You’ll gain exposure to international stakeholders, high-profile events, and impactful projects.

Because our roles are so varied, we don’t have a ‘one size fits all’ policy for workplace attendance. How many days a week you’ll be required to attend your workplace will depend on the requirements of your role. It’s important that you understand the requirements before applying to ensure you are able to meet them. We are committed to considering requests to work flexibly and job share. Requests will be considered by the recruiting manager in line with our policies and business needs.
For more information on our categories for workplace attendance, please view our guide here.
We will be reviewing this policy and approach at regular intervals to ensure we’re meeting our attendance needs.
The City of London Corporation is currently undergoing a programme to ensure that our pay and reward practices are competitive and equitable across the whole organisation, to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to thrive in the work that we do.
