An opportunity has arisen to join the Planning & Development Division in a new post where the focus is on delivery. The City of London prides itself on providing certainty and a strong and healthy pipeline of development and this post would provide a critical role in maintaining that pipeline.

The City of London is the historic and commercial core of the Capital and a world leading financial centre. Planning in the City reconciles growth and development with the stewardship of a unique heritage alongside the creation of world class sustainable places. The development process can therefore be highly complex requiring a number of approval regimes to navigate to ensure that schemes can be successfully delivered.

This post would provide specialist advice and solutions throughout the development process from concept to occupation of schemes and to act as liaison across and between the various Corporation services involved in development related approvals, ensuring compliance with performance standards.

The postholder would be the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for developers secured through the PPA process and to manage and develop the service including the associated SPOC digital platform. Part of the role would be to lead, manage and direct the Planning Performance Agreement (PPA) process and to be responsible for the continuous development and implementation of Planning service improvements.

The post would also manage the Planning Obligations & CIL Team.

The post requires a degree or equivalent in Town Planning or a related discipline along with proven working experience and membership or eligibility for membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute or other relevant professional body.

An effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, you will be IT literate with working knowledge of MS Office Suite.

A commitment to excellent customer services, a flexible approach to work and the ability to work to very strict deadlines are essential qualities for this role.
