About us
Managed by the City of London Corporation, Epping Forest stretches from London’s East End for 14 miles out into Essex, covering over 6000 acres along with a further 2000 acres of ‘buffer land’ and receives over 10 million visits each year. Two thirds of the Forest is designated as SSSI and SAC and is home to over 55,000 veteran trees, over 100 ponds and lakes, two registered parks, ancient monuments, and listed buildings. The ancient wood pasture landscape is managed with the help of a resident herd of 200 Longhorn cattle.
The role
As the Events Assistant Apprentice, you will support with the Engagement team and gain hands-on experience in planning, organising, and delivering a wide range of events.
In this exciting and varied role, you’ll support the team across all stages of event coordination, from sourcing suitable venues and shaping event concepts, to handling key logistics such as transport, catering, and equipment. You'll play an active part in bringing events to life, whether it's a high-profile corporate gathering or an educational children’s activity, catering to audiences from a handful of guests to several hundred. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop valuable skills in a fast-paced environment while making a real impact on the experiences delivered by the Epping Forest Charity.
About you
We’re looking for positive, calm and proactive individual who can use their initiative with energy, enthusiasm, and great communication skills.
To be eligible, candidates must;
- Be at least 16 years old, living in England, not in full time education, and have UK right to live and work for at least 3 years if non-UK citizens.
- Possess good IT abilities (MS Office /Database management), strong communication skills, attention to detail, organisational skills and have the ability to work in a team
- Hold GCSEs in English and Maths Grade 4.
This apprenticeship role is based at Epping Forest and will last for 21 months (including time to complete your End Point Assessment).

Selected apprenticeships require evidence of English and Maths GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent.
