Employee Relations Casework Advisor x3

The City of London Corporation is seeking a dynamic and proactive Employee Relations Casework Advisor to join our Employee Relations (ER) Team – a small but highly skilled group of professionals driving positive change across our diverse organisation. 

As part of our Corporate HR function, you'll be at the heart of some of the City’s most complex people matters. Whether advising on performance and absence management, guiding managers through disciplinary or grievance processes, or supporting organisational change and tribunal preparation, you'll bring empathy, accuracy, and professionalism to every case you touch. 

 

What You’ll Be Doing 

 

  • Acting as the first point of contact for ER casework advice and queries via the central ER inbox 

  • Supporting managers through a range of casework including sickness absence, disciplinary, grievance, and capability matters 

  • Assisting with organisational change projects such as restructures, TUPE transfers, and redundancies 

  • Contributing to the delivery of tailored training sessions for managers 

  • Assisting with data tracking and reporting via case management software 

  • Coordinating documentation for Employment Tribunals and helping manage external legal advice processes 

  • Supporting mediation, redeployment, ill-health retirement cases, and compromise agreements 

 

About You 

 

We’re looking for someone who can balance attention to detail with the bigger picture, thrives under pressure, and is passionate about supporting both people and policy. 

 

To be successful, you should have: 

 

  • Graduate membership of the CIPD (or be working towards it) 

  • Solid understanding of UK employment legislation and case law 

  • Proven experience supporting complex casework in a large, multi-functional organisation 

  • Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills 

  • Experience using case management systems and handling sensitive information with discretion
