Salary: £57,240 - £64,610  inclusive of London Weighting (subject to a pay review) 
Contractual Hours: 35 hours per week

About the Role 

 

The City of London Corporation is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Employee Advice Lead to join our dynamic People & HR team. This is a pivotal role designed to turn insight into action — helping shape and drive impactful people strategies across our organisation. 

As the Employee Advice Lead, you will provide intelligence-driven advice, build trusted relationships across departments, and work collaboratively to implement evidence-based people solutions that make a measurable difference. 

 

What You’ll Be Doing 

 

  • Using data, insights, and trends to influence and inform HR strategy and people plans. 

  • Collaborating with HR Business Partners, Employee Relations team and stakeholders to address complex people issues. 

  • Translating analytics into practical and future-focused HR solutions aligned with organisational priorities. 

  • Supporting leadership teams with evidence-based recommendations to improve performance, culture, and outcomes. 

  • Acting as a trusted advisor on people-related matters, delivering insight and foresight to drive innovation and impact. 

  • Coaching and supporting HR colleagues in delivering change and developing shared learning. 

  • Oversee the planning and execution of all People plans and initiatives across the business partnering team to ensure task are completed on time. Proactively address issues or delays 

 

 

What We’re Looking For

 

Essential Qualifications and Knowledge: 

 

  • Degree-level education or CIPD qualified. 

  • In-depth knowledge of employment law and HR best practices. 

  • Proficient in data tools (e.g., Power BI) and confident presenting complex insights to varied audiences. 

  • Strong understanding of policies, procedures, and people data analysis. 

 

Key Experience: 

 

  • Proven track record in a senior HR advisory or generalist role, ideally in a unionised environment. 

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills at all levels. 

  • Experience developing and delivering strategic people insights and translating them into practical plans. 

  • Ability to navigate complex and sensitive issues with clarity, confidence, and professionalism.
