Workplace based – completely workplace based, with no option to work from home. 

 

About the Role

 

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Early Start Cleaner to join our Markets team. This hands-on role involves maintaining a high standard of cleanliness across the Market site and supporting the maintenance team in ensuring the smooth running of daily operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean communal areas, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing
  • Clean toilets and windows as needed
  • Use industrial cleaning equipment, including scrubber driers and pressure washers
  • Remove rubbish, waste, and Market produce
  • Transport materials and assist tradespeople as required
  • Operate safely using appropriate tools, equipment, and manual handling techniques
  • Follow all health and safety procedures

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Some experience in industrial cleaning (desirable)
  • Ability to use industrial cleaning products and equipment
  • Basic English skills to understand safety procedures and cleaning instructions
  • Physically able to carry out manual tasks and early shift work
  • Reliable, team-focused, and safety-conscious

 

Working Hours

  • Early morning shifts: 4:00am to 12:00pm, based on operational needs

 

If this role is advertised as a secondment, secondments are subject to the agreement of your department releasing you, therefore, you need to discuss this with your line manager prior to applying. The purpose of this will be to discuss what, if any, impact your secondment might have on the service and service delivery should your application be successful, and how this might be addressed.
