As part of the City’s new Business and Investment Unit we are seeking a Business Support Apprentice to support in targeting existing and potential business occupiers and investment.
Operating at the heart of one of the world’s leading financial and commercial centres, the successful candidate will play a central role in strengthening the City’s economic base — not only by securing inward investment, but by attracting, retaining, and supporting the growth of a diverse portfolio of occupiers across a range of high-growth sectors including financial and professional services, digital and tech and a range of other sectors – from SME to larger, more established businesses. In addition, the role will work with the property industry to help attract and retain investors in the City’s development of the commercial spaces that will accommodate these businesses and the wider ecosystem that will support a thriving business base.
This role offers the opportunity to be part of this newly created team, which has recently been formed from several smaller teams previously disparate within the Corporation, and to deliver a refreshed approach to how the City works with and supports business and investors in the Square Mile. The successful candidate will have a direct impact on the future resilience and competitiveness of the City’s business ecosystem.
You will be solution focused and thrive in a collaborative workspace, you will have excellent planning and organisation. You will be confident in liaising with a range of stakeholders, have excellent negotiation skills, along with a collaborative approach to working. Your excellent communicative skills that can articulate issues and problems to senior management and colleagues in a meaningful way.
This apprenticeship role is based at Guildhall and will last for 18 months (including time to complete your End Point Assessment).

To qualify for this apprenticeship, you will need to be:
• 16 or over by the end of the summer holidays
• Living in England
• Not in full-time education at the time of applying
If you are a non-UK citizen – you need to have permission from the UK government to live in the UK (not for educational purposes) and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for atleast the previous three years before the start of the apprenticeship.
Selected apprenticeships require evidence of English and Maths GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent.
