Salary: £75,010 - £85,170 per annum inclusive of all allowances.  In addition, this post also attracts a Market Forces Supplement of up to £15,000 per annum. The Market Forces Supplement is discretionary and may be withdrawn, reduced or increased during the future. 
Contractual Hours: 35 hours per week

The City of London Corporation is seeking a forward-thinking and experienced Assistant Director of Infrastructure to lead and transform our digital infrastructure and IT support services. This is a strategic senior leadership role within our Digital, Information and Technology Services (DITS) team. The role supports the City of London Corporation, City of London Police, and London Councils.

 

You will drive innovation, modernise service delivery, and ensure robust IT operations across a diverse and high-profile environment. With responsibility for critical services, including support for 24/7 operations and senior stakeholders, this is a pivotal opportunity to influence how technology supports the City's future.

 

What You'll Do

  • Lead infrastructure services including user support, network operations, and service performance
  • Contribute to strategic planning, resource management, and risk oversight as a senior leader in DITS
  • Redesign user support services and bring delivery in-house to improve quality and responsiveness
  • Oversee service delivery across the City of London Corporation, City of London Police, and London Councils
  • Manage supplier relationships and ensure compliance with national standards such as PSN and Codes of Connection
  • Act as project sponsor for major infrastructure initiatives
  • Provide support to the Director of Digital, Information and Technology and deputise as required

 

What We're Looking For

  • Degree in IT or equivalent experience, with strong leadership in infrastructure and service support
  • Experience managing IT in complex environments with continuous service demands
  • Expertise in multi-channel user support and working with third-party suppliers
  • Strong political and organisational awareness with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, risk management, and financial planning skills
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and align technology services with organisational goals
