The Role
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Building Services Engineer with strong project management capabilities to deliver a wide range of engineering projects across our estate. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your electrical expertise to client-side design, technical assurance, and project delivery.
You will:
- Lead electrical projects from feasibility through to design, procurement, delivery, and handover.
- Prepare detailed technical briefs, specifications, feasibility studies and tender documents.
- Manage consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with design standards, CDM 2015, statutory requirements, and safety regulations.
- Carry out site inspections, commissioning checks, and handovers of completed works.
- Provide expert advice to stakeholders on electrical engineering solutions and energy efficiency measures.
- Support innovation in building services, exploring renewable, smart, and low-carbon technologies.
Optional Responsibilities / Capabilities (depending on experience):
- Lead on electrical compliance audits across multiple sites.
- Manage resilience planning for critical electrical infrastructure (generators, UPS systems).
- Oversee specialist packages such as lifts, BMS integration, or renewable energy systems (e.g. PV, battery storage, EV charging).
- Contribute to long-term asset management planning and lifecycle replacement strategies.
- Mentor junior engineers or support graduate development programmes.
