About us
As the governing body of the Square Mile, a global business hub, the City of London Corporation has a big impact on the UK economy, as well as the thousands of people who live, work and visit here. Like many other organisations, we regularly engage with Government and Parliament on issues in which we have particular experience or expertise, helping to inform debate and decisions using a wide range of evidence. Within the City Corporation, the Corporate Affairs Team in the Remembrancer's Office plays a pivotal role in leading on this engagement.
The role
As the Assistant Director of Corporate Affairs, you will lead a team that provides expertise, information, support and guidance on political and policy issues affecting the work of the City Corporation including the UK based financial and professional services industry, the work of London government, education, skills, economic crime, culture and open spaces to develop strategies and gain support of key partners in business and government to influence and inform public policy.
You will represent the City Corporation at a senior level on relevant external groups, events, meetings and seminars with national and London policy makers, businesses and think tanks, and ensure as far as possible that the Corporation’s views and objectives are able to influence the thinking of such groups and other enterprises.
About you
You will be an experienced leader and line manager, an exceptional communicator (in person and in writing), with extensive experience and knowledge of the UK political and policy making environment. You’ll have a strong track-record in a senior role in public and parliamentary affairs, coupled with proven ability to nurture working relationships at all levels, internally and externally, and develop and manage key external stakeholder relationships.
