The Office of the Lady Mayor of London is recruiting for a Projects & Correspondence Officer, on a 12-month fixed-term contract, to join the team providing support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Lady Mayor’s office.

Based inside the Grade 1 Listed Mansion House, you will be the first point of contact for all of the Lady Mayor’s formal correspondence, responsible for the drafting of correspondence on behalf of, and working directly with, the Lady Mayor, having ensured the collation of relevant views and content.

You will also be responsible for the management, support and delivery of a range of Departmental projects, including Mayoral initiatives, from initial research, analysis and consultation, through to presentation of findings, options and clear recommendations.

In what is a key role within the Office of the Lady Mayor, you will also provide support across a number of areas including support to the planning and delivery of comms and social media content, and diary forward-planning.

You will have excellent written communication skills, with a particular emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy in written tasks, as well as excellent research skills and the ability to engage with colleagues at all levels, including Principals and senior external stakeholders.

You will be expected to provide high-quality comprehensive support across a range of activity and tasks within the Lady Mayor’s Office, and to take responsibility for a varied workload in a fast-moving and pressurised office environment.

If this role is advertised as a secondment, secondments are subject to the agreement of your department releasing you, therefore, you need to discuss this with your line manager prior to applying. The purpose of this will be to discuss what, if any, impact your secondment might have on the service and service delivery should your application be successful, and how this might be addressed.

How many days a week you’ll be required to attend your workplace will depend on the requirements of your role. It’s important that you understand the requirements before applying to ensure you are able to meet them. We are committed to considering requests to work flexibly and job share. Requests will be considered by the recruiting manager in line with our policies and business needs.

We will be reviewing this policy and approach at regular intervals to ensure we’re meeting our attendance needs.
