If you’re looking to start your career in HR, want to develop your IT and data skills to support better business decisions, and enjoy working collaboratively with a wide range of people, this apprenticeship is for you. You’ll join a Resourcing team that manages the end‑to‑end recruitment journey and oversees a large agency contract supporting our contingent workforce — all within a truly unique organisation where the ancient and modern stand side by side, making a real difference for everyone in the Square Mile.

You’ll work closely with the City’s Contract Manager and the wider resourcing team, where you can ask questions, try new ways of doing things, and be trusted to grow. You’ll gain exposure to the full recruitment lifecycle as well as contract management, producing meaningful data and insights using a range of tools. This will allow you to contribute to real projects and help us make smarter, data‑informed decisions.

What you’ll gain

  • Hands‑on experience in a busy but supportive HR environment with exposure to recruitment and contract management.
  • Practical data skills (Excel, dashboards, data quality) and confidence turning analysis into action.
  • Insight into how HR operates in a world‑class public organisation and how data drives better decision‑making.
  • Completion of a Data Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship, building your professional confidence and opening future pathways in HR and data.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be organised and proactive, enjoying structure but also confident suggesting better ways of working. You’ll be a clear communicator, comfortable writing emails and speaking with managers and candidates. You’ll be curious about HR and data, able to use Excel to tidy and organise information and keen to develop your skills in building reports and turning numbers into meaningful insights. You’ll bring an ideas‑driven, constructive approach and customer‑focused asking thoughtful questions and helping improve how we work. Above all, you’ll be team‑minded, enjoying collaboration, supporting colleagues, and learning from

others.

  • Basic IT skills — especially Excel (we’ll help you develop from there).
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to achieving your Level 3 qualification

This apprenticeship role is based at Guildhall and will last for 18 months (including time to complete your End Point Assessment).

If you are enthusiastic and committed to achieving your Level 3 Data Technician qualification and are eligible to apply, we would love to hear from you.
