Central London Forward (CLF) is a partnership of 12 Central London local authorities, working together to support inclusive growth and ensure residents benefit from the opportunities created by the capital’s economy.
We are looking for three Employer Engagement & Skills Leads to help build a more connected, employer-led employment and skills system across Central London. Working from Guildhall and across the sub-region, you will bring together employers, boroughs, training providers and other partners to create high-quality routes into employment and progression.
About the role
You will build and manage relationships with employers across our priority sectors:
- Construction and the built environment
- Hospitality
- Financial and professional services
- Life sciences
You will work with CLF’s member boroughs to coordinate employer engagement, identify gaps and share intelligence on employer demand. You will also develop relationships with larger employers and create opportunities including apprenticeships, internships, work placements and other pathways into employment.
You will work with employers and delivery partners to promote inclusive recruitment, accessible entry routes, effective onboarding and clear progression. You will also help ensure training and talent pipelines respond to employer needs and share learning with pan-London and other sub-regional skills partners.
About you
You will be a confident relationship-builder who can bring employers, local authorities, training providers and other organisations together to achieve results.
You will have:
- A strong track record of building relationships and networks and delivering results in a brokerage environment, ideally involving employment or apprenticeship opportunities.
- Experience working with employers and training providers to create pathways into employment.
- Experience working with employers in at least one relevant sector: built environment, hospitality, financial and professional services, or life sciences.
- Strong partnership-working and communication skills across commercial, statutory, voluntary and community organisations.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage workloads, meet targets and maintain accurate records.
- Knowledge of appropriate approaches to handling and sharing client information.
- An understanding of local government structures, decision-making and stakeholder relationships.
- Education to at least A Level standard.
Why join us?
This is an opportunity to make a practical contribution to employment and skills across Central London, working with 12 local authorities and a wide range of employers and partners to improve routes into good jobs and career progression.
You will join a collaborative team at the heart of one of the UK’s most important economic areas, with the opportunity to help shape how employers, skills providers and local government work together.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and as part of the selection process the successful applicant will be required to obtain a Standard Disclosure & Barring Service check.

Because our roles are so varied, we don’t have a ‘one size fits all’ policy for workplace attendance. How many days a week you’ll be required to attend your workplace will depend on the requirements of your role. It’s important that you understand the requirements before applying to ensure you are able to meet them. We are committed to considering requests to work flexibly and job share. Requests will be considered by the recruiting manager in line with our policies and business needs.
For more information on our categories for workplace attendance, please view our guide here.
We will be reviewing this policy and approach at regular intervals to ensure we’re meeting our attendance needs.
