Do you want to work in the financial heart of London in one of the most high-profile investment roles in the public sector?

The Corporation is not your typical Council, thoroughly modern but older than Parliament, we have a much wider reach, not only in the range of services we offer, but also the funds we manage and the voice we have on the international stage.

As Director of Investments and Treasury we’d look to you to provide strategic leadership and input into the shaping of financial investments, ensuring the Corporation is fully informed of the risks and returns of financial decisions. You’d work with advisors to help shape the investment strategy and provide advice to the Chamberlain and Members on the investment strategy principles of City Fund and City’s Estate as well as progressing key initiatives from the Investment Committee. You would be expected to be an ambassador in the investment community, building strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Inspiring and developing managers and staff across a team totalling 40 experts, your role covers a wide remit including development and implementation of strategies and plans for treasury, the provision of expert and technical advice across VAT, tax and insurance and providing professional oversight for Local Government Pension Scheme Senior Officer and the administration of the pension fund.

You’ll need to be commercially aware and qualified either as an accountant or CFA with previous experience of working in senior roles in complex organisations. As our ambassador within the investment community, you’ll have extensive expertise in delivering robust investment strategies and return for financial investment portfolio within a complex and diverse organisation.

You’ll be joining a department grounded in professionalism, integrity, and service. Our senior leadership team brings together expertise across finance, digital, treasury, procurement, audit and commercial strategy. Collaboration is central to how we work, and your voice will shape how we deliver for London and beyond.
